POST COVID-19 PANDEMIC SIDE EFFECTS LOSS OF APPETITE AND AYURVEDA

Appetite means when someone feels the need to eat something that desire of food is known as appetite. When this desire automatically reduces and a person doesn’t feel the need to eat anything that is known as loss of appetite. Loss of appetite in medical terms is known as anorexia.
If we talk about the reason behind this problem of anorexia then there is no specific health issue that leads to loss of appetite. Any disease can lead to this problem even if a person is suffering from mild fever then also he or she loses interest in eating a meal.

According to the study, the estimate is one in three people with covid-19 are facing this problem of loss of appetite that is anorexia. If we discuss the time period of anorexia then it may last for four days but in some cases, the number of days may increase to 7 to 8 days but there is nothing to worry about because it is normal after any health issue or any disease.

CAUSES

Every health issue has its causes and reason behind its development in your body, like that only “Loss of Appetite” also occurs because of some health issues.

    1. Infection – When any kind of infection develops in the body through any micro-organism like- bacteria, virus, and fungus that also leads to loss of appetite.
    2. Psychological Factors – A person needs to be mentally fit along with physical health because the mind also plays a vital role in regulating the whole body. That’s why stress, sadness, depression, and anxiety all lead to loss of appetite.
    3. Hypothyroidism – This is also known as metabolic rate and the thyroid affects the appetite bad body weight. In Hyperthyroidism, a person doesn’t have much appetite but still gains weight.

    7. Pneumonia – Pneumonia is an infection of air sacs in the lungs. Pneumonia leads to loss of appetite and also dehydration.
    8. Hepatitis – There is no exact reason for loss of appetite in hepatitis but taste perturbations are one of the causes.
    9. Cancer – Loss of appetite is a common problem in cancer and sometimes because of cancer treatment also. In cancer, the patient not feels like eating something, and even if he eats a small amount of food he feels full.
    10. Kidney Failure – It is obvious that when the kidney stops working, a person automatically loses interest in eating.
